RETURNING TO THE CRIME SCENE

'Aberdeen Urban Atlas' at Limousine Bull, November 2004

Broken TV, granite blocks, cow leg bones and guitar cable, by Merz & Dobson

Guild Street, next to the bus station, September 2004:
"On a random Sunday we went exploring the site; an abandoned, urban wasteland, a dead space, just waiting to be developed into another of the city's many shopping-centres. Until then this is a unique lawless area where no one notices or cares about what you're doing. Discovering a mountain of granite blocks and a dumped TV... Our contribution to Aberdeen Urban Atlas is a low-key video with the soundtrack from the opening scene of Kubrick's film 2001. Inspired by the urban jungle and our own monkey tricks we went back to collect the broken TV and granite blocks. We bring the 'raw materials' into the gallery and set up an installation. Then we will see..."
